Try your hand at Mahjong Shanghai Dynasty to experience its roots as a single player game! Featuring standard Chinese tiles in Turtle layout, your goal should be to clear off your board without assistance from shuffles or clues and complete each round without assistance!
To remove tiles in Mahjong Shanghai Dynasty, select pairs that contain "free" tiles by matching identical pairs that have both right or left edges open and exposed; this may allow an open side to remain exposed as opposed to covering either right or left sides with one mistake resultant in an impossible board situation. Exceptions could include Season or Flower sets where combinations from multiple sets could potentially exist simultaneously on one board.
The game provides two choices to accommodate various playing abilities and preferences: "Shanghai" mode is designed for experienced gamers looking for a traditional challenge using all 144 tiles; for an easier, shorter puzzle play "Kids" mode's simpler layout provides less challenging gameplay options.
