Gameplay

Your sacred duty as the Spirit of the Forest is safeguarding The Tree: the source of all life in your forest. From polluted soil at its edge will come waves of shadow creatures intent on devouring every leaf on The Tree's trunk - but you aren't defenseless; by tapping into natural energies from around us all, you can summon young and strong Guardians that can stand watch over your route and prevent an enemy incursion into its center! The goal of each level in this game is to advance through each round of enemies without letting the Heartwood Tree's health decrease to zero. Play is exciting and strategic; Guardians should be placed strategically throughout, fighting dark creatures for experience points and levels gained during battle; this allows your Guardians to evolve into stronger versions that specialize better against their foes, providing victory! After each victory comes Spirit Essence, which you can use later back at Heartwood Tree to unlock all types of new Guardians and implement permanent upgrades for your troops!

How to Play

Strategic Placement and Effective Evolution are at the core of Forest Commander. As a field commander, your job requires placing guardians strategically and adapting them appropriately against specific threats during gameplay. Although complex, its straightforward drag-and-drop control makes the game an enjoyable and straightforward experience for you and your players!

Click or tap to select an attacker as part of a Guardian summon bar at the bottom of your screen.
Click/tap and drag the Guardian along any glow node along its journey to position it correctly.
As your Guardians fight in battle, they gain levels. Once leveled up, hitting them with an attack will unlock two powerful evolution forms they can change into!

Strategy in this game runs deep. Each stage features ancient, powerful nodes representing your Guardians; placing one near an ancient river node can enhance its capabilities, while using one near an ancient mountain node will limit them. Selecting an ideal Guardian type and spot to begin is only half the battle - choosing an evolutionary path tailored towards winning is equally essential! Depending on the task, you may choose between creating powerful Bark-Wall defensive weapons or Thorn Slingers capable of killing enemies worldwide from small Nature Sproutlings that evolved along the same line! Choosing which evolution path best fits is up to you as much.

Build and Lead an Army of Guardians: Starting as an ordinary Nature Sproutling, accumulating Spirit Essence allows your Nature Sproutling to summon all sorts of incredible new creatures! Discover Water Sprite, which can slow down whole teams of adversaries; unlock Stone Golem (tough as nails tank, which transforms into powerful stun weapons); and Flare Spirit or mysticism light wisp. All with different paths towards evolution!
Search Permanent Updates. In between levels, players can visit The Heartwood Tree, its giant skill tree that offers permanent upgrades with Spirit Essence. Here, players can purchase permanent, powerful upgrades. In particular, Ancient Bark can give all Nature Guardians permanent health boosts; Raging Rapids increases attack speed, while "Ancient Bark" grants all Nature Guardians permanent health bolstering.
Unleash Powerful Magic Spells: Leveraging the Heartwood Tree's ability tree allows you to unlock amazing magical spells you can direct onto the battlefield during times of crisis. When overwhelmed, summon "Entangling Roots" for extra assistance to keep raging enemies under control or cast "Cleansing Rain" to revive it briefly for only a small cost.
